The PROMISERS consortium came together in Milan for a key milestone: our 6-month General Assembly. Over two days of face-to-face collaboration, partners aligned on progress, addressed challenges, and defined the next steps toward delivering PFAS-free materials for sustainable hydrogen technologies.
A Strategic Check-In for the Whole Consortium
Hosted by our partner De Nora, this second in-person meeting followed the project’s Kick-off at LEITAT’s facilities in Barcelona. It marked a crucial opportunity to ensure that all partners are moving in sync during these early stages of the project.
The agenda focused on PROMISERS’ core objectives, from the development of novel materials for fuel cells to the design of their critical components and the assessment of their environmental impact.
We reviewed progress and short-term actions across all Work Packages (WPs), including:
WP1 – Development of hydrocarbon-based PEMs
WP2 – Development of bio-based PEMs
WP3 – MEA development, single cell design & modelling
WP4 – MEA optimisation, single cell fabrication & evaluation
WP5 – Stack assembly, performance validation & modelling
In addition to these, we also covered the rest of the project’s Work Packages in detail, including dissemination, exploitation, lifecycle analysis, project coordination and more — ensuring a complete and coherent overview of where we stand and what’s ahead.
Building Momentum Through Collaboration
Each partner contributed valuable insights and presented clear next steps to keep momentum high. Open discussions helped refine technical strategies while strengthening team alignment across different areas of expertise.
The sessions were dynamic, with a collaborative atmosphere that allowed for honest conversations about risks, opportunities, and how to best coordinate across the different technical pillars of PROMISERS.
A Visit to De Nora’s Facilities
A highlight of the meeting was the visit to De Nora’s facilities, where participants had the chance to see some of the innovations being developed within the project. This hands-on experience was a great reminder of the real-world impact PROMISERS aims to generate through applied research and industrial collaboration.
