The European research project PROMISERS will host its Open Exploitation and Innovation Workshop, bringing together experts to explore the future of PFAS-free technologies for clean hydrogen applications.
The event will take place in a hybrid format, combining online participation with in-person attendance at the FUMATECH facilities (FUMATECH facilities at Carl-Benz-Straße 4, 74321 Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germanys). This approach is designed to encourage broad participation and facilitate exchange among stakeholders from across the hydrogen value chain.

Advancing PFAS-Free Solutions in Hydrogen Technologies
The workshop will focus on the development and implementation of alternatives to PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in key hydrogen technologies, including proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) and proton exchange membrane electrolysers (PEMELs).
While PFAS are widely used in electrochemical systems for their performance and durability, their environmental persistence has raised growing concerns. PROMISERS is working to address this challenge by developing sustainable, high-performance PFAS-free components, supporting both environmental goals and upcoming regulatory requirements.
